Saint Paul Public Library and Saint Paul Parks and Recreation Present “StoryWalks”

Date: Jan 8th, 2013

This winter, families can enjoy a story while exploring one of Saint Paul's beautiful parks. The Saint Paul Public Library and Saint Paul Parks and Recreation are partnering to bring the StoryWalk program to Saint Paul.

The StoryWalk program was first introduced in Vermont, but it is catching on across the country. StoryWalks feature pages of books on display in parks, allowing participants to walk through the park at their own pace and read a story at the same time. Pages from the children's book Winter is the Warmest Season by Minnesota author Lauren Stringer will be on display along Saint Paul park paths this winter. After the walk, participants can warm up by a cozy fire.

Below is the winter StoryWalk schedule:

Sunday, Jan. 27, 2-3:30 p.m.
Como Park
start at Horton Ave fire pits

Sunday, Feb. 17, 2-3:30 p.m.
Lake Phalen
start at Phalen Dr pavillion

The Saint Paul StoryWalk program is supported by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. The StoryWalkTM Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition and the Kellogg Hubbard Library.
