Saint Paul Public Library Celebrates Diversity in Families

Date: Mar 3rd, 2013

The Saint Paul Public Library will be hosting a free series of events celebrating diversity in families. The I ART Families series invites kids and their parents to celebrate families through art.

At each event, professional artists from Rage 2 Order will lead participants in an art activity. Kids will leave with art to take home and also contribute to a shared art piece that will be displayed at the Minnesota Museum for American Art (MMAA) Project Space at the end of the series.

Each event's art activity will relate to a different Rainbow Rumpus book. Rainbow Rumpus is an organization that publishes a magazine and books for kids with lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender (LGBT) parents. At each event, a different author will read from his or her book, and free copies of the book will be available for participants to take home.

Below is the schedule of events:

Monday, March 25, 1:30-4:15 p.m., Highland Park Library
