Saint Paul Public Library Announces Upgrades to its Free Digital Music Service
Downloadable music with easier access to over five million songs

Saint Paul, MN - Saint Paul Public Library launched the 4.0 update to its highly-successful Freegal Music Service, providing patrons significant new content.

With Freegal 4.0, Saint Paul Public Library patrons will enjoy access to over five million new songs from 12,000 labels from around the world; a brand-new interface with a new-generation search and browse function; the ability to download from a selection of 12,000 popular DRM-free music videos and several other crowd-pleasing features.  By the end of this summer, the library's digital music collection will top 7 million songs, from over 28,000 labels including Sony Music Entertainment's catalog of legendary artists. The labels originate from over 85 countries around the globe.

The library launched Freegal Music in 2010, and is now one of over 3,000 libraries offering the service.  Saint Paul Public Library customers download approximately 70,000 music tracks from Freegal each year.

With a Saint Paul Public Library card, patrons can download up to three songs each week. Songs and music videos downloaded are theirs to keep; they never expire and will work on almost any computer, player, tablet, or smartphone. Downloaded videos count as two songs. Free mobile apps are available in the Apple® App Store and from Google Play®. More information is available at www.sppl.org/music.
