The Saint Paul Public Library seeks to support Karen-speaking families in our community by publishing two bilingual children's picture books in English and Karen. We are seeking authors and illustrators to submit work in English or Karen. The target audiences are beginning readers, from birth to kindergarten. Each book will have to have 20 pages of text and illustrations.

Saint Paul Public Library Offers Free Technology Skills Development Program
SAINT PAUL, MN - Saint Paul Public Library has begun offering a technology skill development program called Treehouse, an online learning platform that teaches learners coding and web development skills, like building websites or creating mobile apps, through the use of engaging videos, tutorials, and course modules.

Saint Paul Public Library presents Rainbow Rowell in a free book talk and signing event featuring her young adult novel, Eleanor & Park, at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 30, at the Clarence W. Wigington Pavilion on Harriet Island in Saint Paul. Eleanor & Park has been selected for next year's Read Brave, the Library's citywide program that encourages youth and adults to read and discuss a book that explores issues facing teens today.

This week, the Saint Paul Public Library unveiled LSE Architects' new designs for 2014 renovations to Highland Park and Sun Ray libraries. Nice Ride Minnesota will be coming to four Saint Paul Public Library locations to demonstrate the basic skills needed to safely ride a bike in the city. Following each of these free workshops, Nice Ride will lead a one-hour ride to practice these skills. Participants must be 18 years or older, and a limited number of Nice Ride bikes will be available at no cost.
