Create a giant inflatable shape with every day materials like tape, plastic bags, and box fans. Try making some urban art by taking it to vents on the streets. Led by Asia Ward.

Glowing Clothing

Wednesday, July 24, 6-8 p.m. at Hamline Midway

Learn how to wire LEDs and embed them in clothing, shoes, arm bands, or neck bands. Bring an article of clothing or piece of fabric that can be cut up and embedded with lights. Led by Janet Groenert, fiber and electronic wearables artist.

Shadow Puppet Animation

Wednesday, July 31, 6-8 p.m. at Riverview

Make cut-out silhouettes, similar to shadow puppets, then use a stop motion animation program called SAM to animate the puppets. Led by Peter Kirschmann.

Folded Structures

Wednesday, Aug 7, 6-8 p.m. at Sun Ray

Explore the art and science of three dimensional forms and paper folding and make your own unbelievable geometric forms from folded paper. Led by Margaret Pezella-Granlund, paper artist and sculptor.
