May 17, 2006 Saint Paul Public Library Kicks Off Summer Reading ProgramSaint Paul Public Library’s 47th Summer Reading Program kicks off at Central Library on Saturday, June 17 at 11:15 a.m. The theme for the 2006 Summer Reading Program is "Catch the Beat at Your Library!" The celebration will feature the Daddy Doo Band, balloon animal creations by Magician Matt Dunn, and an Instrument Petting Zoo hosted by WAMSO - Minnesota Orchestra Volunteer Association. The Library’s new Bookmobile will be on hand and open for business. Free frozen custard will be provided by Culvers. The Daddy Doo Band, comprised of parents and staff from the Rondo Early Childhood Family Education Program in St. Paul, is assembling their third CD entitled What Would Daddy-Doo? that is scheduled to be released in December 2006. All proceeds from CD sales help fund the work of the Rondo ECFE Parent Advisory Council. Located in downtown Saint Paul at 90 West Fourth Street, across from the Science Museum, Central Library will host the festivities in its Kellogg courtyard. In case of inclement weather, the celebration will move to the 4th floor of the Central Library building.
