October 17, 2007 Minnesota’s Greatest Generation Film Screens at Saint Paul Public Library On Wednesday, November 7 at 7 p.m., Highland Park Branch Library will explore Family Ties through two films chronicling the experience of growing up in the early 20th century: The Life and Legacy of Lorraine Bresin by Sunny Bresin and One Boy’s Story by Terry Gydesen. On Tuesday, November 13 at 6 p.m., Rondo Community Outreach Library will reflect on the Holocaust with the films Sabina Zimering: A Memoir of Courage by Gwen Briesemeister and Prisoner 32,232 by Gayle Knutson. As part of the Greatest Generation Project, representatives from the Minnesota Historical Society will be on hand to talk about the value of preserving family stories and propose ways to share them with others. Recently produced by film-makers of all ages and abilities, these short films (10 minutes or less) reveal how events at home and abroad affected individuals and created a legacy that still influences us today.
