September 14, 2007 Teen Read Week @ the Saint Paul Public LibraryThe Saint Paul Public Library is celebrating Teen Read Week by hosting several teen events at Central Library, Highland Park Branch Library and Merriam Park Branch Library Oct. 16 - 22. Teen Read Week is more than reading books and magazines - it’s focused on current trends, electronic media, gaming, hip hop and more. The Saint Paul Public Library offers a variety of learning opportunities for teens with different interests. Teen Read Week Events at Central Library, 90 West 4th Street, 651-266-7000 Thursday, Oct. 18, 11 a.m. - How to Make a Monster: Makeup effects artist Christian Hanson talks about how to make a monster. Thursday, Oct. 18, 12:30 p.m. - CSI Teenstyle: Join forensic scientist James Koch for an interactive, behind-the-scenes look at crime scene investigation. Thursday, Oct. 18, 3 p.m. - Movie and Snax Fest: Enjoy a scary movie and tasty snacks. Friday, Oct. 19, 10 a.m. - Scratch Animation for Teens: Learn how to make your own computer animation using free software. Friday, Oct. 19, 12:30 p.m. - Getting into Graphic Novels: Read graphic novels? Ever wanted to draw or write one? Graphic novel writers and artists talk about their work and how they got into the field. Friday, Oct. 19, 2:30 p.m. - Naruto-rama: Costumes, Treats and Movie: Enjoy a screening of the newly released anime Naruto the Movie: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow. There will be treats and a prize for best Naruto costume.
