The Hot Spot Community Learning Center at the Arlington Hills Library [1] is home to programs to help community members of all ages.
Programs for adults revolve around the different aspects of job searching. Teens can get homework help. Preschoolers can get listening and pre-reading experience. English language learners have a weekly opportunity to practice with others.
Homework Help

English Conversation Circle
Mondays, 6:30 - 8 p.m.
Free English practice at the conversation circle. Come and practice speaking English.
Tot Spot Preschool Class
Tuesdays, 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.
TotSpot is an instructor-led preschool class teaching creative expression, social skills, listening comprehension and the foundations of reading through letter and number recognition and vocabulary building. Class is followed by self-directed creative exploration and play with thoughtfully selected educational books and materials.
Resumé Building, Basic Computer Skills and Job Searching Assistance
Monday and Wednesday: 12 - 7 p.m.
Tuesday: 11:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Thursday and Friday: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Computers available for job search, staff are on site to assist, and no appointments are necessary.
Spanish Conversation Circle
Wednesdays: 6:30 - 8 p.m.
Spanish conversation for anyone who speaks some Spanish and wants to improve. Come and practice your Spanish with native Spanish speakers! The conversation circle is free and no registration is necessary.
Job Search Assistance
Mondays: 1 - 3 p.m.
Help looking for a job, filling out applications, writing resumes, and writing cover letters is available free from a job search representative from Goodwill/Easter Seals every Monday in the Hot Spot Community Learning Center. No appointment is required.
Scratch Programming with the Teen Tech Crew
Every other Thursday: 3:30 - 5:30 p.m.
Experiment with making your own computer animations, games, and more with Scratch. It's easy to use and our teen experts will be there to help. Presented by Saint Paul Public Library and the Science Museum of Minnesota.
Volunteer at the Hot Spot
Arlington Hills Library needs homework tutors who:

- Can commit to 1 to 3 hours a week
