Summer Spark

Get into good books all summer long!

Make the library your summer spot with Summer Spark, the Library's summer reading program that includes reading challenges, hands-on exploration activities, and free books!

To get started, kids and teens can stop in at any Saint Paul Public Library location to pick up their Summer Spark Reading Log and a free book to keep.

Readers set their own reading and learning goals, and library staff are here to help. As kids and teens complete their goals, they get another free book to add to their personal library!

Reading Goals

How much do you want to read this summer?

Set a goal to challenge yourself!

We recommend you read at least 20 minutes per day.

Pick up a Reading Log at the library and mark off one space for each day you meet your reading goal or complete an activity.

When you reach a milestone, visit the library to celebrate your accomplishment!

Summer Reading with Library Go

Most students in Saint Paul can check out books, e-books, audiobooks, and more with Library Go. Saint Paul Public Schools, and many charter schools, automatically enroll their students in Library Go, which is an easy-to-remember number based on students’ school ID. There are no fines and no financial risks to families who borrow items with Library Go.
