Danica Shardae is an avian shapeshifter whose family has been at war with the serpiente, people who shapeshift into snake-like creatures, for many, many years. She and Zane Cobriana, a prince among the serpiente, strive to end the fighting by uniting in marriage. A noble goal, but will it work?

Into the Wild by Erin Hunter

For generations, four clans of wild cats have shared the forest according to the laws laid down by their ancestors. But the warrior code is threatened, and the ThunderClan cats are in grave danger. The sinister ShadowClan grows stronger every day, and noble warriors are dying. In the midst of this, an ordinary housecat named Rusty turns up and becomes the bravest warrior of them all.
