Returning Library Items
You may return items to any branch of the Saint Paul Public Library.
When a library is closed, materials may be deposited in after-hours book returns.
Returning to libraries outside of Saint Paul:
Many library materials may be returned to any metropolitan area public library (see exceptions below).
Items returned to other library systems will have the return date marked and be sent to the Saint Paul Public Library. Items will still be checked out on customers' cards until they arrive in the Saint Paul system. The date on which the items were returned to the other system will be honored and the check-in of the items will be back-dated to the date of return.
Exceptions:
- Rent-A-Read books must be returned to a Saint Paul Public Library location.
- Items borrowed from another library system through Interlibrary Loan must be returned to a Saint Paul Public Library location.
- Unused Passports to Play must be returned to a Saint Paul Public Library location (Passports are collected by the Children's Museum when used for admission).
