What happened to Rosetta Stone?

Our subscription to Rosetta Stone has expired as of September 2008, and Rosetta Stone is no longer offering database subscriptions to public libraries.

We now offer Byki Online, a language learning system for more the 85 languages.

You may also want to try some recommended language-learning web sites or books and CDs in our catalog.

What is the difference between the Children's Museum Passport to Play and the Museum Adventure Pass?

The programs are similar, but separate:

Museum Adventure Pass - Free admission for 2 or 4 people to museums, zoos, and other cultural institutions in the Twin Cities metropolitan area.

Passport to Play - Free admission for 2 people and $2.00 admission for up to four additional people to the Minnesota Children's Museum.

How do I access databases and other online resources?

If you are outside of the library, you can access most of the library's online resources by using your library card:

Your card needs to be currently registered with the Saint Paul Public Library, and you will need to know your PIN.

If you are inside the library, you can access all of the library's online resources, with no need for a library card:

Many of our online resources are also available through the Electronic Library for Minnesota.

If your Internet Service Provider (ISP) is recognized as being in Minnesota, you will be automatically connected. However, some of these databases may still require your public library barcode for access. If your ISP cannot be determined, you can still connect, using your library card.
