Foundation Center
Information clearinghouse that fosters public understanding of the foundation field by collecting, organizing, analyzing, and disseminating information on foundations, corporate giving, and related subjects. The site includes a short course on proposal writing, a Foundation Finder, and a searchable list of grantmakers' web sites.
Charity Navigator
Information about and evaluations of the financial health of thousands of charities.
GuideStar
National database of non-profit organizations. Includes information about the operations and finances of non-profit organizations, including image files of Form 990 filings. Requires free registration to use.
Grants.gov
This site allows organizations to electronically find and apply for competitive grant opportunities from all Federal grant-making agencies.
Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA)
This site profiles all Federal grant and assistance programs and lists specific contacts for obtaining additional information. Search, browse by type of assistance, program title, or sponsoring agency.
Cumulative List of Organizations
The Internal Revenue Service's list of organizations eligible to receive tax-deductible charitable contributions.

Minnesota Council on Foundations
Online source for news and information on Minnesota grantmaking and philanthropy. This site includes the Minnesota Common Grant Application form, links to Minnesota grantmakers' web sites, tips on writing a successful grant proposal, and trends and analysis of Minnesota grantmaking.
Charities Division - Minnesota Attorney General
Reports on non-profits and charities in Minnesota, including a searchable database of organizations that solicit funds in the state of Minnesota, laws governing charities, and related resources.
