Deaf and Hard of Hearing Collection

The Merriam Park Branch Library maintains a collection of resources concerning American Sign Language, Hearing Loss, Coping Strategies, and Deaf Heritage. Materials in the collection include books, close-captioned videos, ASL videos, videos about deaf and hard-of-hearing issues, and signed children's books.

The collection began with a transfer of materials from the library of the Metro Regional Service Center for Deaf and Hard of Hearing People.

Materials are available in person or through interlibrary loan, to anyone with a current library card from a public library in Minnesota.

Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
Resource center on hearing loss, featuring online brochures, advocacy information, and links to other resources and organizations.

American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
The credentialing association for audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and speech, language, and hearing scientists. This site includes information about speech and language development and disorders, hearing and balance, and links to other related groups. The site also includes career information and other links for students interested in this field.

Cochlear Implant Association
News, advocacy, and education links from the non-profit organization for cochlear implant recipients, their families, professionals, and other individuals interested in cochlear implants.
